Contract versions

Back to Help Center

The Review module automatically identifies when you've uploaded a new version of a contract that was previously reviewed and amended using our software. This intelligent feature streamlines your workflow by connecting related documents and preserving your amendment history.

Viewing a contract’s version history

To view a contract’s version history:

  1. Open the contract in the platform and click See History in the navigation bar at the top of the page.
  2. A version history timeline will appear in the right-hand sidebar, where you can explore and view all of the different versions of your contract.

The original version

When you upload a contract to Robin, this is the Original Version.

The latest version

Once you begin to mark up the contract, it changes from being the original version to the latest version. All of the redline changes you make to the contract are yours, and thus grouped together in this version. This way, you can see how the contract has changed from when you received the contract and when you finished marking up the contract.

Keeping track of versions

When you upload a contract to the Review module, our system examines the digital footprint of the contract and recognises when a contract is a new version of an existing contract in the system. Review automatically connects the new version with previous versions.

This enables you to not only keep track of your changes, but the counterparty’s as well, giving you a full picture of the ongoing negotiation.

Comparing versions

A user can compare two versions of the same contract, allowing them to see changes between them marked in redline.

  1. Open the contract in the platform and click See History in the navigation bar.
  2. At the top of the page, simply select the two versions of the contract you wish to compare. Additions appear in blue; deletions appear in red.

Downloading versions
