Using Parties

Back to Help Center

The Parties feature allows lawyers who are conducting a contract review to have the right entity/contact/signer details on hand.

This feature works by introducing two concepts:

  • Entity: Organisation entering into the contract that is being represented by the user and whose details must be inserted into placeholders in the contract.
  • Person: Contact or signer associated with an entity and whose details must be inserted into placeholders in the contract.

This feature allows lawyers to create entities for their client. These entities can be limited so that they always show up, or they only show up when a certain playbook is opened. Lawyers can then also add notice contacts and signers as People to each Entity.

Lawyers can then easily copy and paste the correct details into placeholders in the contract.

How to use the parties feature?

  1. Open a contract in the Word Add-in.
  2. Add the playbook.
  3. Add an Entity. You may need to create a new entity. If so, go ahead and create one using the details from your playbook.
  4. Ensure the entity gets associated with the right playbook(s), if any.
  5. Click the Parties button in the Actions tab.
  6. Add a Person. You may need to create a new person.
  7. If so, ensure it gets associated with the right entity(ies).
  8. Copy and paste the correct entity and person details into the contract.
