Using Defined Terms

One of the most tedious, but essential, parts of contract review is checking that the Defined Terms are correct. Let Robin AI handle the manual work and surface issues to you with our Defined Terms checker.

To check the Defined Terms in your contract:

  1. Navigate to the Actions tab in the Word Add-in.
  2. Click select “Check Defined Terms” and give your Legal AI Assistant a few seconds to read your contract.
  3. Robin Legal AI Assistant will flag the following types of issues with Defined Terms:
    • Instances where the wrong term has been used
    • Instances where there is missing capitalisation of a defined term
  4. Once an issue has been identified, we will provide a suggestion that you can either “Accept” or “Dismiss”.
  5. Click “Show Term Definition” to auto-scroll to the part of the contract that has the relevant definition to aid your decision.
  6. If you choose to “Accept” the suggestion, your Legal AI Assistant will automatically insert text into the contract to correct the issue.
  7. Repeat until all the flagged issues have been resolved.
