Defined terms are critical in contracts, ensuring clarity and consistency across legal agreements. However, manually verifying these terms—checking capitalization, ensuring correct references, and identifying undefined terms—can be time-consuming and prone to human error. To check the Defined Terms in your contract:
- Navigate to the Actions tab in the Word Add-in.
- Click select Check Defined Terms and give your Legal AI Assistant a few seconds to read your contract.
- Robin Legal AI Assistant will flag the following types of issues with Defined Terms:
- Instances where the wrong term has been used
- Instances where there is missing capitalisation of a defined term
- Once an issue has been identified, we will provide a suggestion that you can either Accept or Dismiss.
- Click Show Term Definition to auto-scroll to the part of the contract that has the relevant definition to aid your decision.
- If you choose to Accept the suggestion, your Legal AI Assistant will automatically insert text into the contract to correct the issue.
- Repeat until all the flagged issues have been resolved.
